Recurrent Primary Abdominal Wall Abscess: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Primary abdominal wall abscess is extremely rare and difficult to diagnose because abscesses usually occur secondary malignant tumors or inflammatory diseases. We experienced a case of an 80-year-old man with asynchronous primary recurrence. Both were successfully treated surgical drainage. A patient without any history cancer trauma presented our department right upper pain. His laboratory data showed abnormal high response, computed tomography revealed 40 × 30 mm mass formed in the rectus abdominis muscle abdomen. The had no continuity scar after cholecystectomy intra-abdominal organs. Citrobacter diversus was detected culture from epithelial components not by biopsy. For diagnosis abscess, underwent drainage antibiotic treatment ineffective. disappeared promptly Thirteen months first treatment, another noted lower also its rarity. Prompt are important prevent exacerbation.
